Alan is a 30-something year old midwesterner who’s had enough of that life and decided to move to Hawai’i. A month later he is living there and chronicling his adventure through WordPress. Alan is not a successful nor a wealthy man, but one that believes in doing whatever he thinks would be fun, assuming he can swing it (minimally, to be sure) financially.
He left Wyoming March 08, 2008 (Which you can read about in the Blog) and is intending to live in Hawai’i for a significant period of time. He moved here with 2 checked bags, 2 carry-ons, a couple thousand dollars in the bank, and the clothes on his back. He has lived in many different parts of the U.S. mainland, but this is his first trip ever to Hawai’i. He will need to find work, solve the Transportation Conundrum, and fight off loneliness and displacement in order for this move to succeed.

Finally a great stumble! I’ve been looking for an up-to-date blog on a recent move to Hawaii so this is pretty cool.
I’ve been to Hawaii only three times but each time, it gets harder to come back. The next time will be one way! (unless I go to New Zealand, but that’s another story)
Anyway, just wanted to say congrats on your big move! One day, I’ll get the courage (and the job and money). Until then, hang in there and have fun.
